We’re excited to announce the beta release of the TeamForm MCP Server–a powerful new capability that allows AI agents like ChatGPT or Claude to connect directly with your TeamForm data through our our secure, structured API.
Put simply: your AI can now do more than just chat. With the MCP Server, it can understand, retrieve, and soon act, all within your TeamForm environment.
What is MCP?
MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. Think of it as a translation layer between natural language prompts and structured software actions. While LLMs like ChatGPT are great at answering questions, they’ve historically been limited to just that; they couldn’t interact with your apps, data, or systems. MCP changes that.
The TeamForm MCP Server acts like a conversational call center for your AI. It receives your AI agent’s questions, routes them to predefined “tools” (aka APIs), then returns meaningful, structured answers. This opens up entirely new ways for AI to engage with your team data, not just interpreting it, but truly working with it.
Why it matters
Our customers are increasingly experimenting with AI to accelerate decision-making, reduce friction in planning, and simplify collaboration. But until now, there’s been a gap between AI’s capabilities and the business-critical data that lives in TeamForm.
The MCP Server bridges that gap.
Here’s what you can do today:
- Ask complex questions like “Which teams have people with cloud security skills?” and get clear answers—without having to export data or use a BI tool.
- Query across dimensions that previously required manual analysis or spreadsheet wrangling.
- Use your own LLMs: TeamForm MCP is LLM-agnostic, meaning it works with whatever model you’re already using.
And soon, you’ll be able to do even more:
- Take action through AI, like allocating team members, initiating team changes, or updating project plans, all through natural language.

Right now, we’re focused on getting the Q&A experience right, with strong security, smart context, and access to the exact data you need. We’re partnering with early adopters to test and refine the server across real-world use cases.
